Bocamonte is a family owned specialty coffee roaster based in San José, Costa Rica. Our coffee is hand picked, to ensure the collection of only mature cherries from the high, rich volcanic soils of Costa Rica. We dry out our fruit under the sun, turning it, personally, every half an hour to guarantee an even drying. Roasting is also painstakingly conducted by hand in small batches. We then preserve their outstanding flavour with the industry’s most innovative - and highly recyclable - package: a striking cubic box with sixteen individual anaerobic tubes, each containing enough coffee to brew two perfect cups. In this way, only the necessary amount of Bocamonte is exposed to the air and light every time, while the rest can preserve its quality and flavour for over a year. Because Bocamonte does not compromise when it comes to quality: even though we are a micro family business, we pay the field and mill beyond NY Stock Exchange and Fairtrade® standard prices. We are local to Costa Rica and so are coffee partners, therefore most of the profits remain in the country. The mill and roasting plants are environmentally minded and ISO14001 certified, so that the final product that reaches our clients is a certified specialty grade coffee, completely crafted in Costa Rica and ready to brew.
