Here at Bodhi Surf + Yoga, we offer a different kind of vacation than is considered typical: one that promotes responsible tourism, embraces the concept of community, and brings guests closer to nature in our small town of Bahia Ballena, Osa, Costa Rica. Surfing is used as a tool to direct our guest's attention outward toward nature and the elements, while practicing yoga is meant to steer the guest's attention inward to the mind and the breath. Ultimately, these activities function synergistically in the cultivation of awareness — which, quite deliberately, is the meaning of the Sanskrit word bodhi. This model has proven to work quite well, as Bodhi Surf + Yoga was recently recognized as a “Best for the World” B Corporation in the Community category for the third year in a row. Furthermore, we are proud members of 1% for the Planet, voluntarily donating one percent of our gross annual sales to support environmental non-profits.
